College admission requires careful planning, but there is no incorrect time to initiate the process. Beginning early can result in superior preparation and a more suitable university match. At any point when your family is prepared to embark on the search for a college, consulting with a specialist can facilitate informed decisions regarding course selection, extracurricular activities, and summer endeavors prior to commencing the application process.
College advising is appropriate for admissions to Public, Private, selective and target schools. As college admissions have become increasingly complex and time consuming, students need the additional support to navigate this important process. Students can benefit from having an expert help them apply to any college of their choice. Counselors also provide the added benefit of finding the best-fit college for each student, since interests vary greatly from student to student.
There are numerous reasons a family might opt to utilize a college advising service. College counselors offer valuable support for students of all academic levels and goals. They can assist with finding a good fit, navigating the application process, securing financial aid, and exploring various educational opportunities. Their expertise helps students make informed decisions and optimize their chances of success regardless of the selectivity of the institutions they are considering.
Students should schedule meetings with their college counselor according to their individual needs. For students in grades 9 through 11, it is advisable to have quarterly meetings to discuss course selection, extracurricular activities, and summer programs. For seniors, the frequency of meetings should be determined by the student’s specific requirements: two to three sessions may be adequate for those needing support with finalizing their essays, while more frequent weekly meetings may be more appropriate for students applying to numerous schools or needing comprehensive support with their application.
An application is not required to become a client; however, please be advised that there may be a waitlist depending on the current demand for services.
